counter settings change on their own

I set up my counters NOT to count my own hits. Two times now, they've been changed somehow (both of them, and not by me) to count my own "visits to the counter."

What gives? Who is changing this? Or does it somehow revert to a default state if, say, Bravenet is temporarily down?

Thanks!

Re: counter settings change on their own

The settings are stored on a cookie on your computer. Everytime you remove the cookie, the stats revert to their default.

Re: Re: counter settings change on their own

Thanks, Morgan, that explains it. I ran an AdAware scan lately, which must have deleted the cookie. I'll manually reset after each scan from now on.

Again, Thanks Nell

Re: Re: Re: counter settings change on their own

If you add all of the Bravenet cookies that AdAware detects to the ignore list this will stop it reporting them in future runs. Alternatively Spybot Search and Destroy doen't detect Bravenet cookies as spyware and chercks for more known spyware than AdAware does.
