A regular visitor to our forum has complained that:

"every time i come to this site the only way i can get the page to update itself,is to post a message.
why? help "

I suggested refreshing the browser in case he was viewing a cached version, but this has not made any difference (apparently)

Can anyone offer a solution please??

Forum settings are dependant on information stored in the visitors browser. Nothing will appear differently if the cookie is not allowed to be read.. thats where the 'new' message information is stored.

As far as the actual page not updating itself, that is a browser issue, not a service issue. This person needs to simply press CTRL-F5 when the page opens in their browser to force a full refresh, or modify their browser settings.
