Difficulting with ftp upload to my bravehost account.

Hello people -- I have just decided to try out bravenet.com to evaluate if it is better than homestead.com. It is definitely cheaper, and bravenet.com site builder is far superior to that of homestead.

My concern right now is: The difficulty with ftp upload to my bravehost account. I do my web designs on my laptop using dreamweaver, then I upload the site to my hosting account ftp server.

I have tried ftp.bravehost.com with my user name and password, it did not seem to work.

Has anyone experienced this before??? Or Does anyone know how I can resolve this rather critical problem???

Many thanks.
Michael

Re: Difficulting with ftp upload to my bravehost account.

What settings do I need to publish my site using Dreamweaver?
To get your connection information, log in and click on the FTP tab. First, check your FTP account and make sure that you are using '/' for the path. Your FTP hostname will be listed here next to your FTP account.

The connection settings you will need are:

Username/Login: The complete FTP account username shown in the FTP area of your account
Password: The password you set up for this account
Server name/hostname: The ftpXX.bravehost.com address listed in your FTP area
Host directory: /web/yourdomain.com

In the Remote Info area of your Site Definition box, please make sure that the 'passive FTP' option is selected.

Re: Difficulting with ftp upload to my bravehost account.

You need to log into your Bravenet account and click the FTP tab. The FTP tab contains the correct information for connecting to the FTP.

Your FTP username is different then your Bravenet username.
