Why can't our blogs be do follow?

It is getting competitive out there yet bravenet doesn't allow dofollow. Why not? We get far fewer comments to our blogs.

You mean people aren't spamming your blog to try and build up their Google page rank.

Actually they aren't. If they have something to say in context with the post it is ok.
