Pro Mailing List: Backup, Cancel Service, Subscribe to Pro Later, Import
I have a pro mailing list with 700+ subscribers. The mailing list is for an online service that will be unavailable for about a year. I assume most of the people on the list will want to know when the service is available again, so I'm thinking about using the backup feature to create a backup list, canceling my service, and just re-subscribing later and importing the addresses from the backup.
Will this work? Or will I not be able to import the addresses back in if I cancel then re-subscribe later?

Yes you can do that BUT because it will be a new mailing list the import will cause opt-in requests to be sent to the members. There WILL be a very high attrition rate.
Unless cash is really tight you might be better off renewing the existing service and just not using it for a year.
