Okay, does anyone know anything about Bali at the moment?
I'm thinking about going there over the Christmas / New Year period but I'd like to get an impression of what is going on there before I make any final decisions. Is everything outside Kuta pretty much "business as usual"?
I stumbled over your question by accident, my reply is months out of date but... I live in Bali, have done for several years, so here is the absolute gospel on how things are here. It is safer than it has ever been, it is more enjoyable than it has been in a long while because there are far fewer package tourists around and the locals are not as blase as they used to be, it is cheaper than it has been in years because competition is fierce. Give it a try, it's great here.
