Okay, well... I've travelled to Italy a couple of times: most recently at the beginning of February this year. On various trips, I've spent a couple of days in each of these towns and cities: Venice, Florence, Ravenna, Verona, Rome, Trieste, Pisa, Trento, Ancona, Bari, Ventimiglia and Brindisi. Of these Verona and Florence were probably my favourites and Ventimiglia, though only a tiny border town on the Italian Riviera in the northwest (some twenty minutes East of Monaco) has its own charm too. Venice is remarkable but horrendously overcrowded in the summer. Rome has enough to see to keep you occupied for a year without stopping. If you go to attitude Travel Italy: http://www.attitudetravel.com/italy/ you can read an article by Italian Sandro Buono about the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples. I've never been there, but he describes it like a dream in his article, so I'm tempted to travel there myself when I have the opportunity! Over the next month or so, I shall be adding lots more information about the country as well as maps and photos of Italy, so please keep checking attitude Travel Italy for updates (I'd appreciate it!). In the meantime, I'm happy to answer any questions you have about places you're thinking of travelling to in Italy or the easiest / cheapest way to travel there from the States etc. Italy is a lovely country and the people are incredibly friendly... you'll have a great time there!
