I have such brilliant memories of my apprenticeship wi Thrush. Davie, Norrie and Roy... plus others... I remember my best friend Elenor LOVED them and took me to hang oot with them.
Dickie was the one who left the band and they asked me if I could handle playing rhythm guitar and harmonies.
I said I would try, Roy sold me the wonderful acoustic that I loved for 40 quid and I was in!
The best time of my little life.
Havent laughed like that before or since.
I should write a movie about it. Been amazing finding these pages

Was London, then Oban, now Cambridge

Used to see the band whenever they were in Oban and they were brilliant - could never foget them.

To my dear Uncle Dickie, where the hell are you? I remember coming to the band "headquarters " and seeing a giant picture of Shirley Bassey on the wall in the living room that you threw darts at. I came to see you play a couple of times with girlefriends when I was a teen, it was a blast. Last time I saw you was in LA when you wanted to fight the coffee guy inStarbucks for spilling a latte on you!!! Changed days I;m sure when yu were fighting over stronger things than a mocha latte!!

Got some sad news from my good friend George Falconer about our old bass player Mick

MICHAEL McINALLY
Local musician Michael "Mick" McInally from Denny has died from cancer, whilst on holiday. Mick was well known to many people from his days in Thrush, Makaris Park, Esprit De Corps, In Colour and Robbie and the Rocks during the late 1970's and 1980's.

knew davy wugh years ago,used to frequent the happenin club nearly every weekend,started a band,which didnt last very long,but that was the venue for my 1st ever gig...still got it on cassette.Also the venue for the last ever gig by Bouncy Castle,after 2 of us were pished n the other was out his tree on whatever he'd taken...we split up about 5min after the gig finished...thast wa the last time i was in there,also the last time i saw davy,tho i'm told he goes to Elliots,now n again,knew he sung,but had never heard any proper stuff.
