finds for 11-23

Mostly brokes, one nice translucent ensor, another piece of a clay pipe. Hopefully a full perdiz will pop up soon these sure show some nice craftmanship.

Thinking this is a plainview base as it ground smooth.

Re: finds for 11-23

WOW,,,Perdiz N Plainview..
And another pipe with points, that must be significant, maybe no trade item farther than the Caddo ( Mississippian ) people to the East.

That last apparent Perd is about as classic as they get, a true knife, one edge deliberatly resharpend down for use while still hafted on a shaft.
Turkey slicing knife

PS:
See pg 585, Dallas " knife form "

Re: finds for 11-23

Is that Perd worn down? I thought it was broken on that one side. Good finds.

Re: finds for 11-23

Sandman,

Nice finds.

I don't think your paleo is a plainview, JMO, but it looks more like a St Marys Hall.

Thanks for the pictures.

Re: finds for 11-23

Teh, looks like it has been resharpened and it does have the lower corner chipped off.

John, just quessing (hoping) on the plainview, it is just ground so smooth. Time should tell!!

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: finds for 11-23

That's pretty neat when you find a point that was broken and reworked into something else. I've only found a couple of points that were broken and reworked into hafted scrapers. Shows that some of those Indians were pretty frugal with their flint.

Time should tell!!

What does that mean ...it's already 9000 yrs old

Re: finds for 11-23

Hoping, age of finds to come will date back to a older time period!
