Found this at Starr the other day. Not really sure what to make of it. There are no obvious flakes and it feels like it's made of sandstone or limestone and feels like it could be brittle. But it could just be a coating of something from the elements. I don't want to mess with it and chance destroying it.
Well, not all artifacts are made from flint. I, and everyone I have shown it to, believe this was man made. The only question is, is the outside a buildup of something or was it made from that material.
Interesting ( curious )
I wouldn't say anything against being manmade if others have already said it is but just mention that that limestone coating is not possible within the lifetime of humans. Yrs from now when your curiosity cant stand it any more, maybe just use a diamond drill to check a small part of the interior.
At the "Marshall" midden at Starr ( the one at the far end of that middle long dig site ) ..digging up hill in the shallow red dirt, there is a LOT of very oddly shaped limestone globulets. A lot somewhat like little rubber bathtub ducks
