Fall Creek on 09/16/12

This weather is perfect for digging. I found a couple digging and a couple of fossil sea urchins surface hunting in the creek.

Insitu fossil sea urchin (Coenholectypus)

I saw this broad banded copperhead in the creek. The cooler weather is bringing the snakes out as well.

What a good SAF ( Snake - artifacts - fossil ) report

Nice Ellis ( I presume ).
I thought snakes were supposed to disappear in the cold .. or is that one of those N TX Snow snakes ? If so he needs to work on his camouflage traits .

Re: Fall Creek on 09/16/12

Thanks SH and thanks for the help on the ID! Alot of snakes are most active during the spring and early fall when the temps are mild. It's not too cold yet.
