Hey Folks, Digging Texas was back in the Barber Hole this last weekend. We did not find another Barber yet BUT we have gone down 10 feet and still midden all the way! One of the deepest middens I have seen in 19 years of digging.
We got a real nice 4+ inch Plainview out of the hole that would have been a G-10 but it had a few fire pops on it (dang it!).
We found a tremendous 2 bevel solid black Harahey Knife (near museum quality).
Our diggers had a hell of a good time as we uncovered serrated Pandales, a long Jet Like Marshall blade, Marcos, Montells, Pedernales's, huge Langtry's etc.
I will send Michelle some photos to post on Austindiggers.com.
You can see all the finds at our website www.diggingtexas.com
We are headed back into the 10 foot hole this weekend. Going deeper until we hit the bottom, then expanding until the midden stops. This is one of the best opportunities for screeners in a while at the Camp Wood area!
Check out the photos and if you have questions just email me at diggingtexas@gmail.com

Re: Barber Hole Gave Up a 4+ inch Plainview Last Dig!
It is definitely undisturbed floors as we go down. It was on the edge of the creek where the creek ran into the river so It must have been a super place thousands of years ago!
I got down in the hole and scraped the sides and photo'd the levels. It's going to be interesting to see how deep this place is. Now I'm wondering if I dug over layers the first weekend, I will re-visit a couple spots and dig straight down and see if I hit more layers. This one may have fooled me!
