Re: victoria tx

The only place I ever found arrowheads at night was in that three county Victoria area. My Dad dropped a friend and I off just after dark one night back in the summer of 1956. We waded the shallow waters of San Antonio Bay all night along the Blackjack Peninsula with Coleman lanterns and flounder gigs. There was a stretch of about 200 yards long where we found more arrowheads than flounder. The water was clear and calm and those points almost flowed in the light of the lanterns. Dad picked us up at first light. We only had a couple of flounder each......................."You boys didn't do too good", he said. "Yeah we did, lookie here what I got in my pocket"! My Dad and my friend are both gone ( my friend died in Viet Nam ) but the memory of that night is still there and its still strong.

Re: victoria tx

Redman sounds like a match made in heaven, fishing and arrowheads at the same time! My respect goes out to your father. I have a lot of respect for veterans and for ones who gave their life for us. Your knowledge of the area and laws is right on. I played the same cards walking dry lake beds around Texas when confronted by authorities. Pleading ignorance gets you a lot further than being a know it all.
