Research on a vision I had of the saint I didn\'t know about until now

It\'s belated but at the same time, it\'s never left my mind. I had a vision of who I now think was Saint Kateri in late spring of 2010. I never knew about her until now. I had prayed fervently for several months to find out who my guardian angel/spiritual guide was. Then, I had a dream of her standing near a tree, in Native American clothes, smiling ever so serenely and emanating beauty and peace. Initially, I thought it was Mary\'s presence but now that I know about Saint Kateri, I believe it was really Mary\'s presence through Kateri. I had never felt such immense peace and calm before and had never had this kind of dream before. Moreover, I feel I have not one but two spiritual guides. I believe Saint Francis of Assisi is the second guide and coincidentally (or not), both Kateri and Francis are associated with nature and animals. I have personally always felt a strong connection with nature and animals, even though my indoor lifestyle for the most part hasn\'t given me the freedom to cultivate this connection other than caring for many pets and recycling. What is remarkable that the vision specifically included a tree and that she is known for her love of nature. In my prayers, I always pray for the animals and the Earth so this makes sense now that these two saints are my guides. The information on your website has been immensely helpful in learning about Saint Kateri. I strongly believe that Kateri\'s message is to be sure to pray for all lives, even animals and the life of nature.

Here is an abbreviated prayer suggestion but really, any prayer that comes from the heart is what God really wants:

Dear God, creator of all life, pray for us that we may use your gifts wisely.
Dear Kateri, guardian of the land, please help us see the lessons and messages of love, unity and purpose that God gives us through nature and animals. Please protect us all and help us to help one another. Amen.

I was interested in looking into Kateri's background, seems we are related on the mother's side. I was looking to find more information on her mother.

I know her mother is Algonquin and so is my great great grandmother. I was trying to find the connection between us. She was also canonized October 21, which is my birthday. Would you have more info on her mother? please share with me..........

I was named after Kateri Tekakwitha in the early 1960's, and never knew another person with the name Kateri. Wonder if it will become more popular with her canonization.
