Great to see these photos.I was in David Moneypenny\'s class from 1954 to 1961 and secondary school was Hillfoot Hey until 1967.Don\'t see myself but I remember a few names Joyce Todd. Diane Birch, Michael Saville, Michael Barrel, Cliff Stubbs and Frank Tyrer.

What amazing photos love reading about the history surrounding the area.I visit Liverpool and have stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel.Also flown from Liverpool Airport.
From a small village to a sprawling suburb.The history of the industry in the area is very interesting how it has changed everywhere.

Thank you for curating these photographs. A great record. I loved my childhood in Speke. Special memory: being thrown out of the house with a piece of coal at one midnight to midnight on New Year\'s Eve and waiting for the ships\' horns on the Mersey to know I could go back in again.

Born Toxteth, moved to Speke aged 3 been living in Torbay South Devon since 1983

Love returning to my home town, so many great memories use to life in Central Avenue between both schools, was a choir boy at All Saints. Loved going to the Airport with my Grandad just to watch the planes flying in and out.

Thanks for the uploads I saw my Uncle and grandfather Richard and dick who lived down Oglet lane , my Grandmother was a maid at Speke Hall and my Grandfather was a groom before it was sold to the trust so you brought good memories back to me 👍

I now live in Dover Kent.I\'m the youngest of 5 and we lived at 3 Lydd Way in a prefab in Speke, later we moved to Goldfinch Farm Road in Speke in 1957.

My mother grew up at Home Farm, next to Speke Hall.My grandad working for Willie Mac the farmer. There were 6 children and my 2 grand parents living in a 3 bedroom house, with only an outside toilet.
As children I would play around Speke Hall, the woods and farmland with my sisters and cousins. Lots of happy memories.
